I’ve been fortunate enough to achieve my dream of becoming a published author, but I know how difficult the path can be for writers of color. I want to do my part to uplift my fellow marginalized authors by making the information and experience I’ve had the privilege of obtaining more accessible.
I’m currently offering free half-hour writing consultations for aspiring authors of color on Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you’re interested, contact me at solarissantaella@gmail.com and include the following information in your email:
- The word “Consultation” in the subject line
- A brief (1,000 words or less) sample of your writing
- Questions/concerns about writing or publishing you want to discuss
- Ex. “I want to self-publish, but I’m not sure what my next steps should be.”/”I’ve never completed a manuscript before and could use some help getting organized.”/”I just want another pair of eyes on this scene.”
- A summary of your experience with the publishing industry
- “None” is a valid answer!
- The time zone you operate in and if you would prefer a slot on a Wednesday or Saturday
